Chemicals can be good or bad for our bodies; they can help our health or contain cancer-causing agents. The job of a toxicologist is to access the probability that specific chemicals will cause damage to and individuals health, public health, or the organisms in the surrounding environment. A toxicologist frequently designs controlled experiments in which the danger of a chemical is determined and under which conditions it is safe to consume or come into contact with that particular chemical.
Salary In any job, the paycheck will depend on the years of experience and the level of education. Entry level salary for a toxicologist ranges from $30,000 to $60,00 (with a doctoral degree). With 10 years experience and a PhD, toxicologists can expect their salary to range from $70,000 - $100,000. In rare cases, corporate executive toxicologists earn an astounding $200,000+.
