Criminalistics Officer
Crime scene investigators go by many names including but not limited to: Forensics Investigator, Evidence Technician, Crime Scene Technician, and Crime Scene Analyst.
Criminalistics officers spend most of their time in the field securing the crime scene, documenting physical and geographical evidence, photographing the scene, and many other tasks. They rarely process evidence unless having the proper training to do so. |
Requirements
Educational requirements are most often set by the hiring agency; while some demand a Bachelor's or Master's degree others allow a minimum of 2 years of higher education. In many areas, Criminalistics officers are trained as police and commonly switch between occupations. Salary The average pay for a crime scene investigator ranges from $27,00 to $52,00 per year. Self-Reflection Although the profession appears to be interesting and fulfilling I don't see myself heading into this career anytime soon. Although my future is not set in stone; I might careen this direction at one point in my life, I don't see it happening anytime soon. |
